Federation supports RBTU industrial action

Federation stands in solidarity with RTBU members taking industrial action on 25 and 29 January, and wishes them a quick and harmonious resolution to their current negotiations.

In preparation for the rail stoppage on 29 January, Federation has made arrangements for a skeleton staff to be on duty, ensuring that most regular services will still be operating for our members. Reduced staffing may result in extended delays in responding to phone calls or emails, and we ask for members’ understanding and patience.

The Department of Education has sent a communication to all principals confirming that schools will continue to operate as normal on 29 January, and outlines procedures for those teachers and staff unable to attend their usual workplace because of the strike.

Teachers who expect to be affected by the rail strike are advised to contact their principal to discuss alternate arrangements.
