Diploma student books in to Federation library
The Federation library’s picture book collection has been reorganised with the help of TAFE student Bridie Drummond.
Bridie successfully completed the industry placement component of her Diploma in Library and Information Studies at TAFE NSW Ultimo after working in Federation’s library each Monday and Tuesday over seven weeks.
Industry placements offer students an opportunity to apply skills learned during their course, and to gain experience working with library clients and in being a library team member.
The picture book collection is an expanding section of the library that is growing in popularity.

A collection of historic NSW Teachers Federation posters was also cared for by Bridie and have now been incorporated into the library’s artwork collection.
Originals are safely archived and images of the posters are available to view on the library’s catalogue.
