Federation President Maurie Mulheron (far right) is the Australian Education Union’s new Deputy President.
He was elected unopposed at the Australian Education Union’s recent federal conference held in Melbourne.
He will remain the full-time President of the NSW Teachers Federation.
Mr Mulheron replaces Correna Haythorpe (above), now the AEU’s Federal President.
Ms Haythorpe served as Deputy President from 2013, working closely with then President Angelo Gavrielatos, who has taken up a position with Education International, and Federal Secretary Susan Hopgood on the Gonski and Stop TAFE Cuts campaigns.
Correna and Maurie will ensure the AEU makes Gonski a priority campaign.
The campaign seeks to secure needs-based funding.
