The Centre for Professional Learning’s highly evaluated Leading Aboriginal Education in Your School — Relationships, Partnerships and Growth course will be held again on September 11.

The inaugural course was held in May, with 35 participants.

The course has been designed for principals and aspiring principals leading the implementation of Aboriginal education in school communities. Participants reflect on the importance of explicit leadership to support the implementation of the existing Departmental policy. There is an exploration of the different ways to meet the challenges often associated with the implementation of whole school change with a focus on the importance of relationships and partnerships. Presenters, who are highly experienced in varied leadership roles in the Department, explore practical examples of ways to build cultural knowledge and understanding in schools and assist participants to plan for the future in their school contexts.

Completing the Leading Aboriginal Education in Your School course will contribute five hours towards Quality Teaching Council Registered Professional Development. Federation members can find further information about the course, the presenters and apply here.
