CPL expands to Western Sydney and the Hunter

Denis Fitzgerald
Director, Centre for Professional Learning

The Centre for Professional Learning (CPL) is expanding the scope of its courses in terms 3 and 4 and is offering a range of courses based in Western Sydney and the Hunter region.

The CPL and Federation are aware of the particular difficulties teachers outside of Sydney have in accessing quality professional learning. In future years, the CPL is determined to continue to add courses and opportunities in more distant and regional parts of NSW and will also seek to diversify the modes of course delivery.

The tables on this page indicate the courses that are being presented this year in Blacktown and in Charlestown, near Newcastle. These venues have been chosen because of the large number of teachers who live and work within the general vicinity of these locations.

Any financial member of the Teachers Federation is eligible to apply to attend a CPL course. This year CPL courses have proven to be in high demand and members are advised to apply for courses as soon as they possibly can.

Classroom Management and Early Careers courses have a special focus on assisting teachers new to the profession and members might wish to alert newer teacher colleagues to the work of the CPL and these courses in particular.

Full details, including application forms and arrangements for all courses are available on the CPL website at www.cpl.asn.au.
